Cali would do it, here in ok too much road rage and dislike for riders.

I didn't think much of it until I rode in San Diego and seen how well it worked during rush hour and how drivers actually tried to avoid motorcycles and let them pass. I know there are going to be people taking both sides but you should really be somewhere it's legal and try it before you judge. The hardest part will be educating drivers so that they learn it's really in their best interest because it shortens waiting time in rush hour traffic for both cars and bikes. Clint Turner is much more familiar with it than I am, he was stationed there for a couple years and I was only there a couple days.

Nope. Drivers are already too unpredictable. Far too much road rage. Giving them just another opportunity to knock me down doesn't seem like the best decision. I understand the whole heat thing but lane splitting is not for me. But... as with the helmet laws, to each their own demise.

All fine until a truck mirror takes a head off

Dangerous. You cannot predict what other drivers will do on the road. Lane splitting should absolutely be 100% illegal everywhere and enforced. Which sounds bad for riders but it will save your life. Don’t split lanes, drive on the shoulder or drive like a maniac thinking because you’re on a vehicle smaller than everyone else that you’re safer. Road rage is a real thing and there are drivers of various vehicle bigger than you that will seek you out and deliberately run you off the road.

I'm all for it. My bike gets way to hot sitting still and who likes to try and creep for several miles when traffic is baked up. You can't ride on the shoulder without risking getting a ticket. I know someone who got one last year for trying to get around the congestion that way. It will take the co-operation of the media and signage to educate the drivers though.

Been riding a loooong time. You won't see me splitting. Seems any accident that may happen in that circumstance would have to be the fault of the rider. (Unless an actual bike lane was made) The sport bikes will go through at 97 mph to be cool, and not know that looking in a mirror and reacting to something that isn't there yet is impossible. I have a Street glide, cars aren't far enough apart for me!

Hubby grew up on motorcycles in CA...said he liked it. But here in Oklahoma people do NOT handle it well. And I would say a huge NO to it here. We need to fix people knowing how to get on/off highways; handle speed limit/minimum better; use signals period; etc etc etc!!

It’s a great law when it is done correctly! The assholes that go over the 30mph speed limit when doing it is what pisses off cage drivers. If your on a air cooled bike it’s critical!
