- Naked Leather is a premium soft leather that looks and feels natural to the touch. They are made from full grain leather hides and are not grain corrected. Therefore they need to be hand selected for uniformity and only the highest quality hides can be used to make naked leather products. However, since there is no grain correction, they still have their natural markings. They are not defect free, but they do have fewer imperfections.
- Semi-Naked Leather is also a premium leather and very close in quality to the Naked leather. The main difference is that the semi naked is coated with a thin finishing layer which allows most of the natural character of the leather to show through. Semi naked is a very nice looking soft leather.
- Milled Leather is a more available and therefore affordable leather as the hide that is used to make milled leather does not need to be perfect. Milled actually refers to the part of production where the leather is put into a milling machine and rotated. This tumbling process softens the leather and allows the natural fine lines in the leather to intensify.
The Hides We Use
Cow: Cowhide is the natural skin of a cow with hair. The leather from it can be used for shoes, wallets, leather jackets, furniture and car leather and belts.
Buffalo: The skin structure of the buffalo has large-pores and this is evident in leather derived from it. Compared to normal bovine leather, the significantly coarser porosity is clearly noticeable. The fiber structure itself is also coarser. Buffalo leather has thicker single fibers, but is not so closely interwoven. It is nevertheless a stable and sturdy leather.
Lamb: Lamb leather is used for clothing. Its softness and lightness makes a smooth leather for leisure jackets, skirts, dresses or leather pants. Lambskin is also used for gloves, belts, purses, bags, hats or shoes. Particularly expensive leather clothing is often made of lambskin.
